Current Projects
Research and Creation period for “Qualities”
In March of this year I began a trio research project with the wonderful dancers Demetris Charalambous, Cayleeen Del Rosario, Kalliope Piersol and Isa Specter.
Supported by a Tisch Faculty Dean’s Grant this project researches how the 4 dancers move incrementally between various contrasting qualities taking on the character of one living organism, with separate parts, but moving as one. Check back here for updates on open rehearsals and showings over the coming months.
From A to Z
Since 2016, I have a been collaborating with Luis A. Lara Malvacías on From A – Z, a project to create a series of highly structured improvisational duets, that have been performed in Amsterdam, Florence, Barcelona and Berlin, as well at La Mama in New York, and REDCAT and Electric Lodge in Los Angeles. Most recently we performed JkL, the ninth duet in the series, at Radial System in Berlin on July 12th, 2024. We will soon be starting work on the tenth duet in the series.
The creation and presentation of the duets in From A to Z has been made possible by the generous support of Sasha Waltz and Sasha Waltz & Guests, as well as NYU Tisch School of the Arts Dean’s Faculty Research Grants.

.J k L continues the series of duets, begun in 2016 and created in collaboration with Luis Lara Malvacías, From A to Z. Using the letters of the Roman alphabet as titles (and conceptual springboards). the duets explore the many aspects of time and how the production of choreography is intertwined with process and instant performance. We use signposts and issues connected with life and aging as a framework for this exploration, and examine the question of how the agency of the dancer maker changes through time. The event consisting of two solos and a duet was originally planned for 2020. Through the use of music, movement, and visuals, we are sharing the results of our own recent individual research and 2 weeks working together in the studio at Radial System in Berlin.
Presented with the generous support of Sasha Waltz, Emilie Guerin and the Sasha Waltz and Guests team.
